S Situation

The Hospital Network team will be performing maintenance on the CRMC SecureNet WiFi network on Thursday 6/25 from 12pm-1pm to address end-of-life components which are no longer supported.
During this maintenance, devices connected to the SecureNet WiFi network will see a brief interruption as the new system is implemented.
B Background

New authentication servers are required for the CRMC SecureNet Wifi network to stay operational and supported.
A Assessment

The proposed change is expected to have minimal impact on users. During the transition, wireless devices connected to the CRMC SecureNet WiFi network may briefly lose connectivity while they re-authenticate to the new system. The expected interruption is approximately 10 seconds.
Potential risks include:
-Some devices may take longer than expected (more than 30 seconds) to reconnect.
-A small number of users may need to disconnect from and reconnect to the SecureNet wireless network.
-In rare cases, users may need to “forget” the wireless network and reconnect.
